Details

Kava (Piper methysticum, dried root). Useful in relieving nervousness, agitation, tension, stress and anxiety. Kava is a mood elevator; it helps relax muscle tension due to stress, relieves fatigue and calms the mind. It is very useful when anxiety prevents sleep. Dose: Take 20-30 drops two to three times a day.

Contraindications: Not in pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Do not use with alcohol or barbiturates.

Side Effects: Large amounts over an extended period of time may cause skin rash.

Warning: Do not use if you have or had liver problems, frequently use alcohol, or take medication. Stop use and see a doctor if you develop these symptoms: unexplained fatigue, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, fever, vomiting, dark urine, pale stools, yellow eyes or skin. Not for use during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or with alcohol. Excessive use or use with products that cause drowsiness may impair ability to operate vehicles or dangerous equipment.
